The Film and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC) is a private teaching centre affiliated to the University of Barcelona, where future professionals in cinema and the audiovisual industry learn their art. The educational content and characteristics of the syllabus are based on a theoretical and practical concept of preparing students and providing them with the mechanisms and knowledge which will be of best use to them in their future careers.

01/ ESCAC is ranked as one of the best film and audiovisual schools in the world, according to the leading magazines in the sector: The Hollywood Reporter, Premier and Variety.
02/ ESCAC and its production company have won over 400 international awards with work carried out by its students. The most important include the Silver Sun from the San Sebastián Festival of Cinema Advertising, the prize for the best international short film awarded by the Sundance Festival in 2006, and the Critical Eye Film Award in 2008. ESCAC graduates have collected 5 Goya awards, Oscar nominations for Student Academy Awards, and Sant Jordi and Golden Reel awards, among others.
03/ Over 1,600 students of 27 nationalities have trained at ESCAC.
04/ ESCAC is located in a newly-constructed building of over 6,000 m2, especially designed for the teaching of film and audiovisual communications. There are also facilities in Barcelona for the development, extension and international departments and the new VFX school.
